Reigniting the Flame at Bridgets Cottage
Lá Fhéile Bridé 2026

Drummany Spirit hosts an Imbolc Day at Bridget’s Thatched Cottage.  We are situated at Drummany Rahan, Milltown, Cavan, H14 E003.   All our events at Drummany Spirit are alcohol and drug free.

Things we will be doing:

The day will start off with the lighting of the flame/fire in Bridgets Thatched Cottage, this will be lit with the St Brigids Flame from Kildare which has been kept burning for 25 years in Birr Castle.  Bridgets Thatched Cottage is a 300+ year old Cottage, lovingly restored at Drummany Spirit.

Gearoid Teevan of Drummany Spirit will be facilitating a communal rhythm circle on An Ruaille Buaille Druma, Irelands largest hand made wooden ceremonial drum – up to 30 can play that at once.

Brid O Reilly will be making Bridig crafts – St Brigid crosses from organic rushes and Brideog dolls.

Deborah Doherty of Trinity Yoga will be leading a healing circle including a St Brigid. blessing.

Storytelling will be lead by Fiona Crudden from Co Fermanagh.  She will be discussing the special relationship between north and south and tales of St Brigid.

Maria McIntyre of Mind Body Breath Healing will be leading a walking medidation to the Hazel Triskell at Drummany Spirit, once there she will guide a combination of meditation, breathwork and gentle movement.  She will also be guiding a full ecstatic Celtic dance journey in the afternoon.

The day will finish up with an open mic and traditional Irish seisiun round the hearth of the fire in Bridgets cottage, giving everyone present a chance to tell a story, recite a poem or tell of their love of St Brigid.  Please bring your instruments and your stories.

Herbal teas grown on the organic farm at Drummany Spirit and home made soup will be served.

Exchange is €50 for the day, €40 for elders.  Children are free accompanied by an adult.  Gates open at 11am for 11.30 start.

As an artist I found this opportunity to be very nurturing environment for artists, to be given the opportunity to develop a piece of artwork in response to the festivals ambitions for uniting people through coming together in healing and nature.

Thank you Healing Spirit Festival for such a beautiful festival. This was truly a magical weekend. Surrounded by nature, our elders, Mexican natives here to help us remember and powerful generations coming behind us... it gave me the space to release and open up more to myself.

This was 5 months ago in Ireland at the Healing Spirit Festival. I returned to my homeland in search of community that aligned with my values. This was an alcohol and drug free weekend, a place of healing and connection and I’m so grateful it found me, for it was there that I met my tribe and it was there that I felt truly at home.

Healing Spirit Festival is such a brilliant festival. From the music to the sound baths in the forest, the restorative dancing, ceremonies and storytelling were just some of the wonderful things of the weekend. The people and vibe there was so friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to go back and experience it all again.
