An Ruaille Buaille Druma

The creation of An Ruaille Buaille Druma is a true collaboration.  It was born at the Healing Spirit Festival 2023, a unique alcohol and drug free event based at the gorgeous lakeside location of Drummany Spirit Organic Farm and Retreat Space outside Milltown, Co. Cavan.

 

Gearoid Teevan, the founder of Drummay Spirit is a Sacred Drum facilitator and Festival Host.  An Ruaille Buaille Druma was created from his vision of unity and connection, brought about through the heartbeat of a unique drum.

Mícheál Ó Raghaill, an amazing master carpenter and wood artist, made the frame and guided those who gathered at the festival to join him in the assembly, making everyone a part of the creation.

 

Claire Falconer, a gifted visual artist, brought the spirit of the drum alive through her art, giving the Druma its symbols, honouring the Celtic wheel of the year and traditions of our ancestors.  Together with the hands and hearts of the community, the first great beat was struck at Feile Bealtaine 2025 at Drummany Spirit and now that rhythm carries the heartbeat of the land.

 

It was on the shores of Lough Oughter, among the Breifne Drumlins, that the heartbeat of Cavan found its voice.  Its beat leaps across the waters, echoes from hill to hill and carries Cavan’s spirit beyond its borders, proudly putting it on the map.  This vibrant sacred rhythm lives as a joyful expression of connection.  The Druma pulses with the heartbeat of the land, uniting all who gather in celebration, chant, song, dance, community & rhythm.

 

An Ruaille Buaille Druma is situated in the Heart of the Land at Drummany Spirit, Cavan, the home of Healing Spirit Festival.  The drum is available for events where Gearoid will lead those wishing to play the drum in a beautiful, heartfelt rhythm.  Further information on the drum
